Family Physician :
A family physician is a family practitioner who will deal with the health care of all age groups of the family. A family physician is qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by post-graduation in MD, general medicine. A family physician will treat many chronic conditions like high blood pressure, acute infections such as cold, ear infections, diabetes, allergic reactions, flu, sinus infections, arthritis, mental health conditions, and also provides preventive care like vaccinations, screening of diseases, regular health check-ups, counselling about lifestyle modifications, and nutrition. They will refer to other specialist doctors if there is a need for treatment for serious disease conditions. A family physician can provide emergency care, such as treatment of minor injuries and other diseases. When there are symptoms like fatigue or lack of energy, sudden loss of weight, diarrhea, changes in skin appearance, weak immune system, chronic pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, fever, frequent urination problems, and mental health issues.
