Rectal Cancer :
Rectal cancer is medical condition in which the cancer develops from the rectum , the distal portion of large intestine before the anus. The risk factors for the rectal cancer include genetic mutations, family history of colorectal cancer, old age (>50 years), low fibre red meat diet, chronic constipation, smoking, obesity, IBD etc. Signs and symptoms include blood in stool, changes in bowel movements, weight loss, generalized weakness,pain in the abdomen and urinary symptoms etc. Regular screening is important to diagnose the cancer in early stages and treat it which may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy,targeted therapy etc.,and other supportive care depending upon the stage of the cancer .
