Proteinuria :
Physiological factors such as dehydration, exposure to extreme cold weather, stress, pregnancy can also cause proteinuria. It can be diagnosed through a simple laboratory examination of the urine through a dip stick, urinalysis also gives a confirmation of presence of proteins in the urine. Treatment of proteinuria needs a thorough examination and evaluation of the reason causing it. If it is caused due to underlying conditions such as diabetes managing proper glycemic index will help. If certain drugs or toxins are involved in causing proteinuria then immediate withdrawal will become the first line therapy. Other medicines like ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers and steroids are generally used.
