Osteomalacia :

Osteomalacia is a metabolic bone disorder characterised by mineralization of the bone tissue. Osteomalacia is also called as soft bone disease often resulting from deficiency of vitamin D, calcium or phosphate.This condition is also caused by lack of sun exposure, certain medications, and health conditions such as celiac disease, chronic kidney disease, cancers such as breast, lung Liver etc.

Individuals with osteomalacia often experience symptoms like muscle weakness, difficulty in walking, improper gait, and fracturing bones easily. Treatment mainly focuses on addressing underlying medical condition or reversing the condition by correcting vitamin D and other electrolyte deficiencies.
