Nephrectomy :
Nephrectomy is a procedure, where a part or all of the kidney is removed. It is usually done by urologic surgeon to remove a benign kidney tumors. It is also done in conditions like kidney infection, kidney stones and trauma to the kidney. It is a lifesaving procedure in malignant kidney diseases. Types of nephrectomy are radical nephrectomy, where an entire kidney is removed and partial nephrectomy, where a part of kidney is removed. Procedure can be done either in a open nephrectomy way through a single cut in the stomach area or through laproscopy by making small cuts in the stomach area using a scalpel.
