Multiple Sclerosis :
Multiple sclerosis can be described as an autoimmune disease condition which will affects the brain and spinal cord. There are various types of multiple sclerosis such as relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS), and secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). Multiple sclerosis can occur due to demyelination of myelin sheath in the nerve cells of brain and spinal cord. The symptoms that can be noticed in case of early stage of multiple sclerosis can be muscle weakness, changes in vision, numbness, clumsiness, fatigue, dizziness, loss of coordination, mood swings, difficulty in thinking and concentration, muscle stiffness, and muscle spasms. Multiple sclerosis can be diagnosed with blood tests, lumbar puncture or spinal tap, MRI scan, optical coherence tomography test, and evoked potential test. The treatment for multiple sclerosis can be made with medications, counseling, physiotherapy, deep brain stimulation, and speech therapy.
