Multiple Sclerosis In Kids :
Pediatric multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that affects the brain and spinal cord. It is caused due to the removal of myelin sheath by the antibodies secreted by the immune system. Factors that influence our exposure to toxins like smoke and pesticides are low levels of vitamin D, overweight, genetic issues of the immune system, and Epstein-Barr virus. Symptoms include numbness, tingling, dizziness, difficulty walking and keeping balance, fatigue, tremors, weakness, depression, difficulty in concentration, double vision, trouble seeing, and sensitivity to heat. Diagnosis involves blood and urine tests, MRI, CSF tests, evoked potential tests, and optical coherence tomography.
