Lap Colon Surgeries :
Lap colon surgery is also called laparoscopic colon surgery, and it is used to treat colon problems that comprise malignant diseases such as colon cancer, diverticulitis, or inflammatory bowel disease. Unlike regular surgery, which requires an incision on the abdominal wall, laparoscopic surgeon makes minor cuts in the abdomen and uses a minuscule camera called a laparoscope, along with special instruments, through the small cuts to perform the surgery inside the abdominal cavity. It enables the doctor to see inside the abdomen on a monitor, so it is easier to define the beginning and end of removal or repair precisely in the affected region of the colon. This surgery is more preferred since it has less pain, smaller scars, and a fast recovery time than in open surgery. Most patients are discharged within a few days and are able to get back to their daily routines within two to four weeks. However, not all patients will be advised to undergo the surgery. The surgeon will decide the best procedure to follow based on the case of the patient. In some cases, the surgery might have to be changed to open surgery should complications come about.
