Keratoconus :
Keratoconus is an eye disease that affects the eye, causing the outward bulge of the cornea and then forms into a cone shape. As the cornea shape converted into a cone shape, the smooth surface of the cornea is changed, leading to a condition known as astigmatism, causing nearsightedness. The symptoms that will be observed in keratoconus will be double vision, loss of vision gradually, appearance of halos around the lights, sensitivity to light, and distorted vision, making straight lines appear as curvy or bent lines. This keratoconus is along with other conditions like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, Down syndrome, asthma, and osteogenesis imperfecta. The diagnosis of keratoconus will be done through visual acuity test, slit lamp examination, corneal mapping, and keratometry. The treatment advised for keratoconus will depend on the severity of the condition, and treatment will be done with implantable ring segments, eyeglasses, corneal transplant, or contact lenses.
