Heart Blocks :
Heart blocks are described as problems related to the heartbeat signal that travels from the atria to the ventricles of the heart. Heart blocks are categorized into several stages, namely, first, second, and third degree heart blocks. The chief signs of a heart block are heart palpitations, chest pain, nausea, fainting, tiredness, rapid breathing, shortness of breath, and dizziness. Heart block occurs due to various factors such as coronary artery disease, heart attack, scarring in the conduction system from an unknown cause, heart valve diseases, heart muscle disease, exposure to toxins, genetic anomalies, heart damage during an open heart surgery, and side effects of medications such as calcium channel blockers and beta blockers. The management of heart blocks includes various options like prescribing drugs to deal with the symptoms and also the underlying heart disease, and a temporary or permanent pacemaker for third-degree heart block.
