Glaucoma :
Glaucoma is an eye condition that affects the eye, leading to the buildup of pressure in the eye, thus causing loss of vision and complete blindness. The glaucoma will occur due to optic nerve damage and the increased intraocular pressure created inside the eye. There are various types of glaucoma, which include primary angle-closure glaucoma, primary open-angle glaucoma, congenital glaucoma, and secondary glaucoma. The symptoms which are observed in glaucoma will be headaches, blurred vision, eye pain, pressure in the eye, low vision, red eyes, double vision, and symptoms of emergency glaucoma will be bulged eyeballs, halos around light, flashing of lights in the vision, appearance of floaters, pooling of blood in iris, nausea & vomiting, scotomas (blind spots), sudden loss of vision. The diagnosis of glaucoma will be done through eye examination and with tests such as visual field testing, tonometry, pachymetry, visual acuity testing, depth perception testing, slit lamp examination, and gonioscopy. The treatment advised for the glaucoma will be through medications and surgical treatment to lower the pressure that is formed inside the eye.
