Gastritis :
Gastritis is the inflammation of the stomach lining commonly caused due to bacterial infection and misuse of NSAIDS.( Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs). Gastritis may be an acute or a chronic condition persisting for a longer duration. In most of the cases this condition is not associated with any symptoms, but if the symptoms appear the most common ones would be upper abdominal pain,nausea and vomiting. Breath test, stool samples, upper endoscopy and Upper GI series and barium swallows are some of the diagnostic tools employed by your health care provider to evaluate this condition. However treatment will depend on the cause of the gastritis, your symptoms, age, and over all general health. Along with bacterial infection gastritis is also caused by over consumption of alcohol, smoking, stress.
