Eye pain :
Eye pain is a common condition that affects both eyes and can be described as a sharp, aching, or throbbing sensation. The most common causes of eye pain are infections, contact lenses, allergies, toxins, inflammation, and increased eye pressure. The other conditions that contribute to eye pain are cellulitis, conjunctivitis, corneal damage and infections, dry eyes, glaucoma and other conditions like blunt trauma, optic neuritis and uveitis. Eye pain is managed by taking medicated eye drops, over the counter artificial tear drops, using a clean towel to wipe the face or eye, washing hands frequently, keeping hands and fingers out of the eyes, avoiding usage of contact lenses when the eyes are infected, avoiding the use of makeup while the eyes are infected. One should visit a doctor when there eye pain along with other symptoms such as vomiting, seeing halos around the lights, feeling pressure, signs of bodily infection, blurred vision, bulging eyeballs and inability to move the eyes through normal range of motion.
