Endophthalmitis also called as endophthalmia is described as the inflammation of the inner cavity of the eye often caused by infections. This condition is categorized based on its cause namely exogenous endophthalmitis meaning infection acquired through outside source and endogenous endophthalmitis, infection spreads through the eye from other parts of the body.
It is potentially a serious condition that might result in vision loss or loss of the eye itself. Symptoms of this condition includes vision changes, eye pain, swollen eyelids, eye pain and eye discharge.
