Eczema :
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic inflammatory and non-contagious skin condition. While Eczema can occur at any age, it is commonly encountered in children below one year and prevalent in women than in men. This condition is marked with symptoms such as dry, itchy patches of skin, and scaling, bumpiness, oozing of the affected area on the skin. Individuals with eczema are also more susceptible to bacterial, viral, and fungal skin infections.
However there isn't a cure for this skin condition, treatments involves management of the existing symptoms. Avoiding irritants and allergens, using prescribed ointments and creams, and maintaining skin moisture are some of the essential coping strategies to be followed by individuals with eczema.
