Eclampsia :
Eclampsia is a complication seen in pregnant women and presents as seizures. The warning signs of eclampsia before a seizure attack include nausea or vomiting, severe headaches, difficulty in breathing, blurred vision, double vision or loss of vision, trouble urinating or not urinating often, abdominal pain, and swelling of hands, face, or ankles. The symptoms induced by eclampsia are severe distress or confusion, loss of consciousness and seizures. The primary cause of eclampsia is preeclampsia due to high blood pressure. Eclampsia management involves taking medications such as corticosteroids and anticonvulsants. The complications of eclampsia include blood clotting issues, placental abruption, preterm labor, stillbirth, stroke and death. Eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of rest, staying as active as possible, trying to keep stress levels low, and watching the blood pressure closely for at least two weeks after giving birth are a few things that help during recovery.
