Duodenal Ulcer :
Duodenal Ulcer, a commonly occurring peptic ulcers is a sore formed on the first part of the small intestine, which is the lining of the duodenum. The most common cause of a Duodenal Ulcer includes a bacterial infection caused due to H. pylori bacterium , while other less common causes include over use of NSAIDS, tobbaco, smoking, and certain health condition like crohn's disease and liver cirrhosis.
Individuals with a Duodenal Ulcer experience symptoms such as bloating, waking up in the night with abdominal pain, nausea, heart burn, gastroesophageal reflux, pain immediately after eating, intolerance to certain food , and appetite changes. Treatment depends on the cause of the ulcer involving medications and certain life style modifications such as avoid smoking, spicy food, and maintaining a healthy weight.
