Drug Allergy :
Drug Allergy is an immune system response of the body that produces allergic reaction to certain drugs. It is important to understand that the allergic reaction will not occur on the first exposure to a drug, while on the first exposure the body produces antibodies against the drug. However the next time you take the drug these antibody produce a chemical called histamine resulting in allergy symptoms. Some of the common symptoms of a drug allergy are itching of the eyes and skin, Hives, skin rash, swelling of the lips, tongue or face, wheezing, and bleeding, however in severe cases there may also be a chance of anaphylaxis. Insulin, drugs utilised for seizures, iodine -x ray contract dye, and penicillin are few common drugs that contribute to a Drug allergy.
