Cystoscopy :
Cystoscopy is a diagnostic procedure performed to visualize the urinary bladder and urethra. Cystoscopy helps to diagnose urinary tract problems, bladder cancers, urinary bladder stones, enlarged prostate, bladder control problems, urethral strictures, urinary tract infections, interstitial cystitis, or bladder pain syndrome. Urologists perform this cystoscopy in case of bladder stones and bladder control problems such as retention of urine, blood in urine, pain during urination, etc. The procedure cystoscopy involves the insertion of a cystoscope with a camera at the end to visualize the bladder and remove tissue samples if required for further testing. There are two types of cystoscopes such as rigid cystoscopes and flexible cystoscopes. Cystoscopy is a less risky procedure, but there are some complications with the procedure, such as spasms in the bladder, painful cramps, leakage of urine, infection, bladder damage, and damage to the urethra.
