Azoospermia :
Azoospermia is a condition in which there is no sperm present in the testicles to ejaculate in reproduction. There are three different types of azoospermia such as testicular azoospermia, post-testicular azoospermia, and pre-testicular azoospermia. The causes of azoospermia can be an obstruction, and some other causes can be hormonal imbalances and genetics. The blockage can be due to various problems such as infections, trauma to testicles, retrograde ejaculation, inflammation, vasectomy, cysts, cystic fibrosis, and past surgeries in the pelvic region. The symptoms do not appear in the case of azoospermia, and only it will be known when trying to conceive a pregnancy. Azoospermia can be diagnosed through semen analysis, blood tests to check the levels of hormones such as testosterone, follicle stimulating hormones, X-rays, genetic testing, and ultrasound of the scrotum. Azoospermia can be managed with counseling and genetic testing and surgical treatment is advised to unlock the ducts, supplements of hormones, and retrieving sperm to use assisted reproductive technology to achieve pregnancy.
