Arm Fracture :
An arm fracture essentially involves breaks in the humerus which is the bone of the upper arm-as well as the radius and ulna, which occur in the forearm. It is commonly a result of falls, direct blows, or car accidents. This kind of fracture is most likely to occur in children and the elderly, but athletes are also victims of arm fractures. Cramping pains with swelling and bruising, no movement of the arm, and even noticeable deformity owing to the breaking of the bone itself in extreme cases.
The fracture treatment depends on the type of fracture and break. Minor fractures have a cast or splint cased around the broken limb to immobilize the bone and permit it to heal on its own. More serious fractures generally may require surgery using rods, plates, and even screws to realign the bone. It may take 3-4 weeks to months depending on the type of injury. Some kind of rehabilitation by physical therapy would likely be needed after recovery to return fully and functionally.
