Nephropathy :
Nephropathy is a general term used to describe conditions affecting kidneys which eventually leads to long term kidney failure cases. It can be of several types such as diabetic nephropathy, IgA nephropathy and analgesic nephropathy. It is an accumulation of various kidney dysfunctions affecting the glomerular functions.
The symptoms vary from presence of blood or albumin in urine to changes in urine output and GFRs based on the type of nephropathy. If left untreated, nephropathy may lead to fatal events. Hence adhering to the strict treatment plan inclusive of dialysis is a mandatory option for patients with any type of nephropathy.
