Sinus Surgery :
Sinuses are the cavities around the nasal passages that are also present behind the eyes and forehead. Sinus surgery can remove any blockages from these cavities and restore natural drainage. Doctors recommend such surgeries if the lining of the sinuses has thickened, growths have developed, or the cavities keep getting infected. There are several types of sinus surgery, of which functional endoscopic surgery is the most common. The surgery is performed under local or general anaesthesia. After anaesthesia is administered, the surgeon inserts a tiny telescope to view the insides of these cavities. Next, the surgeon removes any blockages, growths, or small pieces of bones to clear the sinuses. Most patients are monitored for a few hours after the surgery and then asked to return home. However, the patients cannot drive home themselves. Many patients are able to return to their routine life within a week.
