Prostrate Surgery :
A prostate surgery is a procedure in which the prostate gland is removed from the body. The prostate is a unique gland that is only present in the body of males. The gland is situated under the bladder and surrounds the urethra. The urethra is the tube via which urine and semen leave the body. The prostate is responsible for mixing fluid in the semen and pushing it out of body.
A prostate surgery is required when a male develops a serious prostate condition such as cancer. Prostate surgery can provide relief from the cancer if it has not yet spread to other parts of the body. The surgery can also provide relief if it becomes larger than normal and squeezes or blocks the urethra making it difficult to pass urine. Prostate surgery can be performed as an open procedure or using a robotic device. Moreover, the procedure may involve removing the entire prostate or just its inner core.
