Hernia :
Hernia is a condition described as the protrusion of internal organs or tissue into the abdominal cavity. Generally, a hernia is caused by weakened muscles, abdominal pressure, and due to injury. There are different types of hernia, such as inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, femoral hernia, incisional hernia, epigastric hernia, and hiatal hernia. The symptoms of a hernia can be pain while coughing, pain while lifting weights, bulge in the affected area, discomfort due to pressure, and swelling. The diagnostic tests done to diagnose the hernia are physical examination and CT scan. Surgical treatment is the only treatment option for hernia. During the surgical treatment of a hernia, the weakened tissues are repaired, and close the opening with sutures. The types of surgical treatments are robotic surgery for hernia repair and laparoscopic surgery.
