Ovarian Cancer :
Ovarian cancer is a condition in which there is abnormal growth of cells in the ovaries and fallopian tubes present in the uterus. The symptoms of ovarian cancer can be abdominal pain in the pelvis region, loss of appetite, bloating of the abdomen, weight loss, abnormal bleeding, back pain, fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, size of abdomen is increased, and frequent urination. There are types of ovarian cancer, such as epithelial cell ovarian cancer, germ cell tumors, and stromal tumors. When coming to the causes of ovarian cancer, there is no exact known cause. The factors that are responsible are obesity, being over the age of 60 years, never being pregnant, family history or inherited gene mutation, and endometriosis. The investigations done to diagnose cancer are ovarian cancer screening tests, pelvic examination, ultrasound of the pelvis, CT scan, MRI scan, PET scan, and blood tests. Also, surgical evaluation of ovarian cancer is done. The management of ovarian cancer involves surgical removal of the uterus, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, and radiation therapy.
