Trop T :
Trop T or troponin test is a diagnostic test conducted to look for certain specific forms of troponin protein in the blood. Troponin protein exists in two forms in the human heart, namely, troponin T and troponin I. When the heart is damaged, mainly due to a heart attack, this protein is released into the bloodstream. Trop T is indicated to diagnose certain major health conditions, such as heart surgery, chronic kidney disease, pulmonary embolism, infections or inflammation of the heart, heart valve diseases, irregular heart rhythms, congestive heart failure, cardioversion, sepsis, exercising too much or too strenuously, and extreme emotional strain, such as grief or stress. To diagnose a heart attack, one of the key tools used is Trop T. The normal levels of troponin I and troponin T are 0- 0.4 ng/mL and 0- 0.01 ng/mL, respectively, for the troponin test.
