Prolapse of Uterus :
The prolapse of the uterus is also called uterine prolapse. It is a condition in which there is a dropping of the uterus into the vagina due to weakened muscles and tissues around the uterus. The causes of uterine prolapse can be aging, vaginal delivery of childbirth, chronic conditions such as obesity, coughing, and also other factors such as lifting of heavy weights, strained bowel movements. The symptoms that are seen during prolapse of the uterus are bulge or protrusion from the vagina, pain during intercourse, pressure on pelvis, bowel and urinary issues, back pain, and fatigue. This uterine prolapse is diagnosed through a pelvic examination, imaging tests such as CT scans, MRI scans, and urodynamic testing. The treatment options for this prolapse of the uterus can be kegel exercises, pelvic floor muscle exercises, surgical treatment, removal of uterus is indicated in severe cases of prolapse.
