Premature Ejaculation :
Premature ejaculation is a sexual dysfunction characterized by the ejaculation of semen before or shortly after penetration during sexual intercourse. Premature ejaculation will occur due to many causes, such as stress, anxiety, depressive thoughts, relationship problems, performance anxiety, poor self- esteem, prostate inflammation, erectile dysfunction, low serotonin or dopamine levels, and an extra-sensitive penis. The symptoms will be observed during sexual intercourse. This condition will be detected by the urologist, who will advise lab tests if they suspect any underlying condition that is causing the premature ejaculation. The treatment advised for premature ejaculation mainly depends on the cause of the condition. The treatment will involve medications, counselling, and behavioral therapy. In behavioral therapy, the methods will include start and stop, squeeze therapy, and distracted thinking. Counselling will be provided by a psychiatrist, psychologist, or sex therapist. There will be certain medications that help with premature ejaculation, such as antidepressants.
