Peripheral Artery Disease :
Peripheral arterial disease is a narrowing of peripheral arteries which occurs commonly in legs. Common symptoms of peripheral artery disease are muscle cramping , tiredness, weakness , pain, discoloured toes or feet , cold extremeties, poor toe nail grown, tinglingness in hips thighs, and calves while walking or climbing stairs.This is also known as caludication. The pain usually goes away when the physical activity is stopped and restarts again when activity is resumed. People with diabetes may mistake that as peripheral neuropathy. Risk factors include age, smoking , obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus . Treatment includes medication, life style modification , and surgery.
