Paralysis :
Paralysis is known as the loss of voluntary movements in the muscles. Paralysis can be affecting any part of the body. There are many types of paralysis, like localised paralysis, generalised paralysis, such as hemiplegia, quadriplegia, diplegia, paraplegia, and monoplegia. The paralysis will be caused due to many causes like autoimmune diseases, traumatic brain injury, birth defects, and brain injuries, including cerebral palsy, and neurological conditions like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The symptoms which can be observed in paralysis will be spinal cord injuries, muscle cramps, numbness in limbs, strokes, and loss of muscle control. The paralysis will be detected through X-rays, CT scan, MRI scan, electromyogram (EMG), spinal tap or lumbar puncture, and myelogram. The management advised for paralysis will be through physiotherapy, strength, which helps to improve mobility, medications to relieve pain and muscle spasms, coordination, mobility aids such as braces, wheelchairs, occupational therapy, and supportive care.
