Over Sweating :
Over sweating, also called as hyperhidrosis, is described as excessive production of sweat by the body without any specific reason. Over sweating is categorized into two types such as primary focal hyperhidrosis and secondary generalized hyperhidrosis. The presenting complains of over sweating include wetness on the skin which causes inflammation and itching when sweat irritates the skin, body odour which comes when the sweat particles mix with the bacteria on the skin and cracked or peeling skin on the feet, damp clothing and beads of fluid dripping from the cheeks or forehead. The treatment methods to deal with over sweating includes showering more often, wearing breathable clothes, using antiperspirants and deodorants, taking certain medications and therapies like botulinum toxin injections, microwave therapy and iontophoresis and if the above mentioned steps don't work, surgical methods like endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy and sweat gland removal.
