Night Blindness :
Night blindness is known as nyctalopia. Night blindness will cause vision problems during nighttime and also in dim light. Night blindness will be a symptom of other health conditions and not a disease. Night blindness can be caused by many conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, LASIK surgery, keratoconus, vitamin A deficiency, retinitis pigmentosa, genetic diseases of the retina like cone-rod dystrophy, and certain medications. The signs which will be observed during night blindness will be difficulty in recognizing faces in the night, difficulty in seeing in dim light and darkness, difficulty driving at night, blurred vision, and difficulty in adjusting to changes in light. The treatment advised for night blindness will be based on the underlying cause, which may include surgical treatment to correct underlying eye problems, correction of refractive errors with eyeglasses or contact lenses, taking supplements of vitamin A, or eyeglasses with anti-reflective coatings.
