There will be many types of jaundice, which include physiological jaundice, breast milk jaundice, and breastfeeding jaundice. The diagnosis of newborn jaundice is done through physical examination, blood test, and skin tests. It will subside on its own if it is mild jaundice. But when it is severe and moderate jaundice, the treatment will be frequent feeding or supplemental feeding, intravenous immunoglobulin, light therapy, and exchange blood transfusion. Newborn jaundice will not be a harmful condition, but in case of higher bilirubin levels, it will damage the brain.
