Near Sightedness :
This common eye problem is defined as a condition where one is able to see objects that are near but is unable to see objects that are found far away clearly. This happens when the eye ball is either too long or the cornea is too curved thus light focuses in front of the retina not directly on it. It is common in children starting at early ages and can aggravate with time. Some of the causes of development of Myopia include genetic factors, spending prolonged hours on screentime as well as close work which consists of reading. The main signs that a person has myopia are the inability to see objects at a distance, headaches, and eye strain when straining to look at distant items. The therapy mostly involves refractive management by means of different optical devices like glasses or contact lenses. It is sometimes possible that the refractive surgery like Lasik might be used to get rid of the vision problem for ever. It is advised that patients have their eye checked from time to time to detect any changes in vision with which the doctor can advise you to take the necessary steps like reducing the time you spend on screens, or going outdoors for a while.
