Near Sightedness :
Nearsightedness is called myopia. It will be referred to as the difficulty of looking at the far objects. Nearsightedness will be observed in children. There will be two types of myopia, which include simple myopia and pathologic myopia. The nearsightedness will be caused due to hereditary reasons that are passed from parents to children. The symptoms which will be noticed in nearsightedness will be headaches, eye strain, tiredness during playing sports and driving, squinting, and objects far away appear blurry. The diagnosis of nearsightedness will be done by an ophthalmologist. Nearsightedness will be corrected using eyeglasses or contact lenses for seeing distant objects. The LASIK procedure, which is a surgical procedure, is done to correct nearsightedness. Vision therapy, intraocular lens implantation, phakic intraocular lenses, and PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) are also options. The complications that will be observed with nearsightedness include glaucoma, cataracts, optic neuropathy, retinal detachment, and neovascularization.
