Lung Cancer :
Lung cancer is malignancy of the lung arising from the and it is one of the major causes of cancer deaths in the world. Lung cancers are of different types depending on the location and cells from which they arise . Lung cancer has a very strong association with causative agents like cigarette smoking (most leading cause), secondhand smoke for family members and friends of smokers , and inhalation substances like asbestos, radon gas and genetic predisposition. In the early stages lung cancer doesn't show any specific symptoms but can be detected on imaging studies. In advanced stages the patients often present with chest pain or discomfort, cough (sometimes associated with blood), shortness of breath etc. Management of lung cancer involves surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Early detection and diagnosis is necessary to improve the rate of survival.
