IUI :
Intrauterine insemination is one of the fertility treatments. The term IUI is the process placing the sperm directly into the uterus of a woman with the intentions of hopefully resulting in conceiving. Such fertility treatment is often used when couples fail to conceive due to low sperm count, poor movement, and sometimes unexplained infertility. It is timed during ovulation period, it is either spontaneous or induced by the use of drugs. Sperms are ejaculated, washed, and precipitated and a full two ampules implanted with the assistance of a thin catheter. It is painless and only takes a few minutes. IUI is usually recommended because it brings the sperms closer to the egg, therefore maximizing the chance of fertilization, especially in those with mild disorders of fertility.
