Heart valve Repair :
Heart valve repair is detailed as a surgical intervention that is performed to repair one or more faulty heart valves (doors that keep the blood moving in the right direction). Heart valves are located between the four chambers of the heart and are categorized into four types: tricuspid, mitral, pulmonary, and aortic valves. Heart valve repair is indicated if the patient presents with signs like chest pain, fainting, and difficulty breathing. Traditional or open heart surgery, minimally invasive heart valve surgery, and trans catheter surgery are the various ways in which heart valve repair is done. This surgery is preferred over replacement of valves, as it lowers the risk of infection and decreases the need for lifelong intake of anticoagulant medication. The side effects that may arise after heart valve repair surgery are heart failure, heart attacks, endocarditis, blood clots, abnormal heart rhythm, stroke, bleeding and infection.
