Complete heart block CHB :
Complete heart block, also known as atrioventricular (AV) block, is described as the complete blockage of the electrical signal from the atria to the ventricles. Complete heart block negatively affects the ability of heart to pump blood out of the body and is a serious heart condition. The symptoms of complete heart block include tiredness, heart palpitations, nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, fainting, rapid breathing and chest pain. These factors that cause CHB include damage to the AV node, coronary artery disease, side effects of certain medications, cardiomyopathy, heart damage during open heart surgery, heart valve diseases, and congenital causes. CHB may induce complications such as arrhythmia, heart attack, heart failure and sudden cardiac arrest. Complete heart block is managed by performing pacemaker surgery. A pacemaker may induce side effects such as infection, device malfunctions, blood clots, injury to the heart, and issues with the device's programming.
