Chordoma :
Chordoma is a bone tumor that can affect the spine or base of the skull. This chordoma will spread to other organs like lymph nodes nearby, lungs, skin, liver, and other bones. There are many types of chordoma, which include classic chordoma, poorly differentiated chordoma, and differentiated chordoma. The symptoms that can be observed in chordoma will be blurred vision, headaches, double vision, a lump in the tailbone area, numbness of the face, bladder and bowel problems, lower back pain, and pain in the face. The chordoma can be diagnosed based on neurological examination, CT scan, MRI scan, X-ray, and biopsy, which is a needle biopsy. Surgical treatment can be the primary treatment option for chordoma, in which the wide margins of the chordoma can be removed. The treatment advised for chordoma will be based on chemotherapy, radiation therapy involving proton beam therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. Generally, chordomas can have a better prognosis when treatment is done.
