Cholangio carcinoma is the cancer of bile ducts which are located in the liver that helps in transporting bile which helps in digestion of fats. It is a rare but aggressive type of cancer that is usually detected in the advanced stages and often has poor prognosis. The risk factors and causes for cholangio carcinoma includes old age (>65-70 years), male gender, family history, chronic liver disease, primary sclerosing cholangitis, certain infections, genetic mutations etc. The signs and symptoms are vague and non specific in the beginning and as the cancer progresses it presents as yellowish discoloration of eyes and skin(jaundice), unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite abdominal pain, dark coloured urine, clay or pale and greasy stool, nausea, vomiting, weakness , etc. Management is mainly cholangio carcinoma surgery which is the primary treatment option that includes resection or removal of the tumour and the affected bile ducts.
