Cervical Disc Herniation :

Cervical disc herniation is a medical condition in which the soft, gel-like center of a spinal disc bulges out through a tear in the outer, tougher layer, putting pressure on nearby nerves and causing pain and discomfort in the neck and arms. It can occur due to various reasons like age-related wear and tear, trauma or injury(sudden jerks ), genetics, poor posture, smoking etc,.Signs and symptoms include neck pain and stiffness, arm pain,weakness in arms or hands numbness, or tingling, difficulty with balance and coordination, headaches etc,.Risk factors include age (40-60 years), occupation (heavy lifting or bending), sedentary lifestyle, family history, previous neck injury or surgery. Usaully symptoms occur on one side of the body.

Diagnosis is made by physical examination, detailed medical history X-rays or CT scans, MRI or EMG tests etc,. Management includes conservative treatment physical therapy, pain management by NSAID's, chiropractic care, epidural injections, epidural corticosteroid injections, surgery in severe cases and lifestyle modifications like posture correction, exercise, stress reduction etc.,
