Athlete's Foot :
Athlete's foot, also known as tinea pedis, is a fungal infection that affects the skin of the leg. Athlete's food is categorized into several types such as vesicular type infection, toe web infection, ulcerative infection and moccasin type infection. The presenting complains of athlete's foot include itchy skin near the feet, cracked and peeling skin between the toes, a burning sensation near foot and a skin rash with grayish or reddish or purplish appearance. Athlete's foot is primarily seen in the soles of the feet, heel area, at the top of the feet and between the toes and results in bad smell from the feet. The treatment plan to deal with athlete's foot includes using ointments, sprays, gels, powders that effectively manage this condition, antifungal creams and over the counter products. If left untreated, athlete's foot may cause complications like affecting other regions of body such as hands, groin region and nails.
