Alcohol Addiction :
Alcohol addiction is called as alcohol use disorder, in which there is excessive consumption of alcohol that the individual will not stop drinking, despite it leading to damage to their life and the people around them. Consumption of alcohol with more than 5 drinks a day or 15 or more a week is called as alcohol addiction. The symptoms which are seen in alcohol use disorder will be craving for alcohol, withdrawal from social activities, from work, and any other important activities, continuing drinking of alcohol even in diseases, consumption of alcohol though it affects the relationships with close family and friends, withdrawal symptoms and drinking alcohol to avoid those symptoms. The alcohol use disorder will occur due to various causes like genetics, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, mental health disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The treatment advised to treat alcohol addiction will be behavioural treatment, such as counselling, support groups, and medications, in order to reduce the cravings for alcohol.
