Tongue Cancer :
Tongue cancer is a malignancy arising from any region of the tongue and it a part of the cancers of oral cavity. Tongue cancer is strongly associated with risk factors that includes smoking or chewing tobacco, alcohol, HPV infection, genetics, sharp teeth and long term betel nut chewing etc. The patients often present with persistent oral swelling, white or reddish plaque, mouth and tongue ulceration for more than 3 weeks that doesn't scrape off ,sore tongue, lump on the side of the tongue, neck pain , difficulty in swallowing, jaw and facial swelling, trismus or lock jaw and bad breadth etc. Management involves surgery, radiation and chemotherapy if necessary.Early diagnosis is necessary to treat and curb the cancer to prevent further complications and metastasis.
