Phimosis :

Phimosis is described as the inability to retract or pull the foreskin of the penis. A tight foreskin is common in baby boys upto 3 years of age, any tightness or failure of retraction beyond that age may lead to a medical problem. Phimosis is classified into two types namely physiological (children born with it and the separation occurs with time) and pathological ( the one that occurs due to scaring or infection). Some of the most common symptoms of phimosis are soreness, pain, discoloration of the skin, pain with erection, and painful urination.

This condition cannot be left untreated as untreated phimosis may lead to a number of complications such as Urinary tract infections, adhesions, para phimosis, poor hygiene, and may also increase the risk of penile cancer. Treatment mainly depends on the cause of the condition which includes watch full waiting in young boys, addressing the underlying condition, and circumcision.
