Circumcision :
Circumcision is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the skin that covers the head of the penis. It is commonly performed within ten days of a baby's birth, but it can be performed in adulthood. Circumcision is traditional in some cultures, but many parents get their babies circumcised for personal hygiene reasons and to reduce the risk of UTIs and STIs. During the procedure, the baby is positioned on his back, then the penis is cleaned, and anaesthesia is given. Finally, a special clamp is used to hold the skin together before cutting it off.
Like any procedure, circumcision has its risks. Though some bleeding is normal, the procedure can cause excessive bleeding. Cutting off the foreskin can cause an infection if not done correctly.
