A paediatric physiotherapist is a specialized physiotherapist who offers physical therapies to children. To become a paediatric physiotherapist, it is mandatory to complete four and a half years of graduation from a physiotherapy college and obtain a BPT degree, followed by pursuing post graduation like MPT in Paediatric Physiotherapy. Paediatric physiotherapists deals with symptoms like respiratory difficulties, functional mobility, improve muscle tone, gait training, integrate the reflexes of the child, and improve the posture. A paediatric physiotherapist works to enhance the child's ability to effectively participate in their daily activities, improve the movement of the child and provide learning opportunities for skill acquisition. Autism, scoliosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophies, coordination concerns, torticollis and developmental delays are the common conditions managed by a paediatric physiotherapist through physical therapy. The treatment methods applied by paediatric physiotherapists to address these concerns include stretching, strengthening exercises, pain management, training the children, balance development and coordination practice.
