Rheumatic fever :
Rheumatic fever causes inflammation in the joints and heart of children and is an autoimmune condition. The presenting complaints of rheumatic fever include unexplained ongoing headaches, small bumps under the child's skin, swollen, red tonsils, muscle aches, swollen and tender or red joints, chest pain or abnormal heartbeat, fever, a rash that might be flat and red, and feeling overly tired all the time. Rheumatic fever is triggered when a child doesn't receive treatment with antibiotics for group A Streptococcus infections, and due to factors like strep throat or scarlet fever. To diagnose rheumatic fever, various investigations such as throat culture test, blood tests, and heart tests like ECG and echocardiogram are conducted. The treatment methods to deal with rheumatic fever include joint treatments, taking medications (anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics), and heart surgeries for serious complications.
