Iritis :

Iritis is a condition that can affect the eye, leading to irritation and inflammation of the iris. Iris will be called the pupil of the eye. Iritis can affect any of the eyes or both eyes. Iritis will be caused due to many reasons, which include eye injury, infections, such as viral infections, certain medications, genetic issues, like autoimmune diseases, like juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Behcet's disease, and sarcoidosis. The symptoms that will be observed in iritis will be redness of the eyes, discomfort in the eye, decreased vision, and light sensitivity. The diagnosis of iritis will be made depending on the eye examination, visual acuity test, and slit lamp examination. The treatment for iritis will be to restore vision and relieve eye pain. The management advised for iritis will be through steroid eye drops to reduce the inflammation and to dilate the pupil. There are risk factors that increase the risk of iritis, including sexually transmitted diseases, tobacco smoking, genetics, and weak immunity.
